Marian Consecration
"With the act of consecration to the Immaculata we offer ourselves to her as her absolute property. There is no doubt that she is the most perfect instrument in God’s hands, while we, on our part, must be instruments in her immaculate hands.
When, therefore, will we overcome evil in the most rapid and perfect way throughout the whole world? When we are going to let ourselves be guided by her in the most perfect manner. This is the most important and only issue."
-St. Maximilian Kolbe
Consecration Programs
Marian consecration is an age-old devotion within the Church, finding its roots at the foot of the Cross when Jesus said to his beloved disciple, “Behold your mother.” This devotion then developed in the Early Church and has taken root in the practice of the faith today. Unfortunately, Marian consecration is still seen as merely a “devotion” that one might choose to do, rather than an integral part of our Baptismal calling. Christ established the Immaculata as Mother to all, and it is His will that we come to Him through her.
To promote this call of Christ, the Immaculata Institute offers different programs to assist in preparing for Marian consecration and then continuing to integrate it into diocesan and parish life as well as into the spiritual lives of individuals. These programs are tailored to the seasons of the liturgical year and offer resources for bishops, priests, and the laity including: •Marian theological teaching •Calendar organization •Collaboration with diocesan or parish department staff for implementation •Workshops for staff •Bulletin reflections •Homiletic resources •Liturgical prayers •Personal devotional prayers •Retreat outlines (or in-person given retreats) •Video resources (in development) •A mobile app (in development)
