Lenten 2026 Marian Consecration Program

Why Lent?

Lent is the season of purification, when the Church prepares through prayer and fasting for the glory of the Resurrection. No one lived this suffering and waiting more fully or more united to Christ than the Blessed Virgin Mary, who stood at the foot of the Cross (Stabat Mater) and endured the Passion in her heart with faith, hope, love, and profound sorrow. Leading your parish through this consecration during Lent allows your parishioners to walk closely with Our Lady, preparing their hearts through purification to encounter the Risen Christ more deeply at Easter, and to await the Resurrection by the means he came into the world—through his Sorrowful Mother.
